Helloooo everyone!
I hope you're all well and that you all had a fantastic bonfire night and more importantly, an amazing Halloween! Halloween is my second favourite holiday of the year (the first is Christmas, obviously!) because as someone who loves painting (duh) and dressing up, bringing those things together and also chocolate and sweets... what is not to love?! (Says the 22 year old...22 going on 12)

This year I attended my first Halloween at Anglesey Sea Zoo, an annual event where the whole team goes all out, the whole aquarium is decorated to a theme, all members of staff dress up and get involved, and as the aquarium is plunged into darkness, the staff distribute themselves throughout the aquarium's camouflaged exhibits. Having never been to one of these before, I have to say I was so impressed, it really is great fun and a totally new way to see the aquarium!
This was on the Friday before Halloween, so on the actual eve of Halloween, Farren and I excitedly got painted as pumpkins and robots and waited for all the trick or treaters to show up. We'd prepped an impressive tray of sweets and chocs and lit our pumpkins outside, and decorated inside with red and blue spooky lights, giving an eerie glow from the window and door when it was opened. We had our Halloween playlist at the ready, and we waited... and waited...

...and waited...
...can you tell where this is going?
...until at about 9pm we gave up.
No trick or treaters! Not a single excited child in costume to be seen. Very disappointing!
Anyway, we still had a good night, and it did mean that all of those sweets were ours to keep!

Besides Halloween fun, I'm afraid it's the same old story from me... busy as usual! I attended Network She's Coffee and Cocktail Connections event, which was a really lovely opportunity to catch up with some Network She pals and also to meet lots of potential new pals and members. Also, as usual, the biscuits were divine! I'm also very excited to attend our next Boadecia Boardroom meeting this week, so expect a blog post about that in the nearish future! Speaking of blog posts... how have I left it this late into the blog to mention this, I forgot!!!
HAPPY BLOGGIVERSARY!!!!
We have officially been blogging every week for over a year now! I wrote my first ever blog post on November 3rd last year, and have managed to write a post (very nearly) every single week since then! I mean I have missed a few and more often than not lately, they are maybe always a feeeeeeeew days late... but I'm still pretty damn proud to have managed to keep it up weekly for a year! Hopefully this time next year I will be able to say the same thing... 😁
I'm really excited about my blogs at the moment, because I have a lot of new ideas of fun things to do for some upcoming posts, videos, collaborations and more... if you don't want to miss these, you can subscribe to receive an email whenever a new post goes up (now that I'm one of those super annoying erratic blog people who seem to be averse to sticking to a schedule...) might be useful!

(A sneaky peek here and a big clue for both a Christmas card and other things...)
Anyhoooo, i'd better get back to painting, as I'm currently working on the Christmas card range (sooooon to be released... very excited about these too!) as well as several commissions! I'm loving my studio now that it's cold outside, it's sooo cosy and lovely to be in there, and I'm set up next to the window so I can watch the raindrops racing down while I'm tucked up in my lovely studio chair with candles and tea and blankets! That's another thing I have planned for whenever a) my house is tidy enough and b) when I find the time, a house tour!

All these plans and not enough minutes in the day, but I'm loving every second of it :)

Thanks for reading, and I will catch you next week!
Rachel x
