Networking and Cheese and Onion Rolls

Hello there everyone, and welcome back to my blog! This week’s post is going to be a rather short and sweet one, as I have been a very busy bee this week! (Again…)
As I write this, I have just returned home from a fantastic event, hosted by Network She, where we were exhibiting and networking. The event was hosted by the lovely Ruth, and as well as being great for making new friends and business contacts, it was also a lot of fun. All the women who attended the event were in good spirits and it was a wonderful environment to be involved in. I even won a prize at the end of the night! I won a Winter Warmer gift set including hot chocolate, which, if you know me, (or have read any previous blog posts) you’ll know is the ideal prize for me, as there is nothing I love more than wrapping up and drinking a delicious hot choc! Now, the event began this evening at 6pm, and as exhibitors, we aimed to arrive early and have ample time to set up before everyone else arrived for the event. However, due to an unforeseen family emergency, we were later than we intended to be and had to set up in a great hurry! Nonetheless, despite the stress involved with getting there on time and making sure we were all set up and ready to go, it was definitely not an event to miss, and we are thoroughly looking forward to the next event already.

Now, usually, for such events and emergencies, I would drive back, but due to the bad (I say bad only in terms of traffic and driving, I am actually the biggest snow fan of all time, except for maybe my mother, which is where I get it from) weather forecast, this time I opted for the train. Since I tend to drive whenever I can (mostly because I can travel late at night, since, as I’ve said in previous posts, I am a night owl) I don’t often take the train any more, and I actually thoroughly enjoyed it. I had my book and a sketchbook and headphones and good music, and it gave me some (much needed) time to relax. I might take the train more often! Speaking of snow blizzards, we’ve yet to have any here (sadly) apart from a few (bullets of) hailstones as we were unloading the car for tonight’s event. However, up in the mountains of Snowdonia, (which we can see from Beaumaris) there is a lot of snow, and so if there isn’t a blanket of snow by Sunday, Mum and I are hopefully going to go for a walk on the mountain path in the hopes of sighting some! (Not in a crazy-dangerous way, only if it is safe to do so weather-wise) If we do, I hope to take my new camera, and I’ll post any pictures on next week’s blog post.
As for this post, however, apologies that it was yet again such a short post, but I am currently starving as all we ate for dinner after the event was some cheese and onion rolls, sat in Mum’s car in the Tesco car park while the hail rained down, and so I think I might need to go and make some toast and a panad. Thanks for reading, hope to see you next week, Rachel x
